Moving Again After Moving Abroad | Episode 12

You’ve already done the BIG-sell-all-your-things move. But now it’s time to move again—maybe it’s across town or across the country. You don’t have to sell all.the.things again, but you do have to get it all from Point A to Point B.

In this episode of It’s Tea Time Somewhere, we’ll be sharing how many times we’ve each moved, stories from previous moving experiences, our typical process for packing/moving, and what we do first when we arrive at our new place.

We also made up a new word (if Gen Z can do it all the time, we can too). We think it will make a great addition to your vocabulary.

Questions discussed in this episode:

How many times have you moved (how many houses/apartments have you called home)?

What moving memory sticks out most to you and why?

What is the typical process for you when you’re about to move from one house to another after you’re already abroad?

After you’ve arrived in your next house, what do you do first?

Noteworthy Quotes:

“Live like a Spartan. Don’t own a lot of stuff.” — Melissa

“What do I need to have where I know where it is so even if we’re still in the midst of chaos after, I already thought about the first thing [coming up next]? I think the whole point is wanting to return back to a state of routine and normal life and traditions.” — Alicia

“The first time I feel at home [in a new house] is after a trip. It takes me going away and coming back to make it feel like a home.” — Denise

“Make good friends with strong arms.” — Melissa
